Hazbin Hotel's Creator Is Aware of Your Season 2 Bingo Cards — With Some Good News
The highly-awaited Season 2 of the adult animated musical series Hazbin Hotel debuts on the streaming platform this week, and audience theories has been rampant.
Season 1 presents a large cast of characters residing in the afterlife, sets them at odds accompanied by songs about their clashes, and builds tense rivalries and angsty, affectionate connections that fuel fan obsession.
The community's expectations for the new season differ greatly, but certain threads emerge over and over: Will a fan-favorite character escape his tormentor? Might we learn more about the binding agreement affecting the enigmatic Alastor? Will [favorite character] and [other character] finally get together?
"Naturally, I don't produce the show with fan service as the main goal," the creator commented earlier this year. "However I feel like me being a fan of my own show implies there's a lot of it just inherently. I also want to see these things, and I want some of these things to happen, and obviously some of these things are meant to happen in the show!"
The creator reveals her long-term vision is for a five-season run of Hazbin Hotel. Future installments have received approval by Prime Video and A24, which produce the series.
That could imply fans have to be patient for some of the major resolutions — but they may be surprised at how fast the new season moves, and how many of what they're waiting for unfolds this season.
"I feel like people are going to be highly satisfied," she adds. "There are several debut moments. I think we get some incredible disclosures, some fascinating origin tales, and even basic elements, [like] I hope this character gets a song. […] We're going to hear much more singing from the previously silent cast members."
The creator is well-informed of the theories and desires about the upcoming season — particularly in the form of audience prediction charts.
"I've seen a couple people make a bingo card about season 2," she says. "Naturally I won't share it, but I've already completed some of them, and nearly every one of them have almost a bingo. I thought, Oh, if you put this [event] in this spot, it would be a bingo. So that makes me think we accomplish much [of what fans are waiting for in this season], because I realized, Oh, there's multiple potential bingos on this card. So that makes me happy."
Hazbin Hotel season 2 premieres on Prime Video on October 29.
